New Law School Dean

Unread post by LawGreenie »

Marcilynn Burke, ex-Dean of Oregon Law, ex-Obama era director of Bureau of Land Management and acting Director of Department of the Interior.
Seems like a good personality and good fundraiser. Thin record of scholarship.

Will no doubt bring national plaudits, but also part of the continuing FU from Tulane to oil & gas industry and a large part of the Louisiana legal community, but that ship has been sailing for quite a while.

That's fast becoming the norm for all Deans and even Presidents. They don't want anyone whose done much in the field, they want a business/executive/leader type. Right, wrong, or indifferent (and I could give reasons for each of those three viewpoints).

She was a law school Dean, she’s running the department of interior, but somehow, she’s a “pc” selection.
Beyond belief.
