The three healthy backs all did some good things. Hughes has a brace on his knee but showed some quickness. I think everybody liked what they saw from Duda Barnes. Brazzell had a nice route on a sideline pass, catching a good ball from Pratt. Gerrod Henderson did some good things from a DT slot. He probably got credit for a quick whistle sack. Machado tackles well and Mandel Eugene did some good things tackling and in pass coverage. Laister lined up at safety and made a few plays. Matt Lombardi hurt a knee or an ankle. He put a bit of weight on the hurt leg as he was coming off.

Thanks long green. Dont recall gerrod Henderson, love to have some new impact players emerge.

Thoughts on QB play ?

Hopefully none of the injuries are serious. Any thoughts on WR or TE play ?

Some of the injured guys did agility drills with the team before the actual competition.

Valentino Ambrosio’s 48-yard field goal with 17 seconds left in the first half. There were no blockers or defenders on the attempt, but Ambrosio continued to show his accuracy after converting 11 of 12 field goals a year ago as a transfer from Rutgers.
A full season of him will make us a better team.

Agreed. I won’t be quite Cairo santos level confident but outside of him he has the potential to be the best in this century

Does anybody have some input on the play of the secondary? I know we lost a lot of veteran talent from that group

Michael Pratt looks stronger (and thicker) to me. He can still take off on a run if the play dictates that. However. I do wish that he would wear more protective gear on those long legs of his.

Running backs looked OK/good to me. Competition for starting RB jobs should help shake up that situation.

Each year, it seems to me that the OL & DL get bigger and better. The Ole Miss game will be an good indicator of how well that has progressed.

The team is full of wide outs/pass catchers with excellent speed. The same holds for the defensive back and safety positions.

Check out Guerry’s report on Rivals. It is an excellent recap.

I will take 2nd best defense in the conference today, no questions asked. Not that I necessarily think we'll be worse than that (though I definitely think there's some uncertainty), just confident that our offense will be good enough to win the conference if we have the 2nd best D.
