“The complaint was filed on behalf of Tulane Students for Democratic Society, the Arabic club and a couple of individual students,” said Silas Gillett with Tulane Students for a Democratic Society.
They are mad that a largely Jewish populated school prevented them from harassing those Jewish students.

I mean, anyone can file a complaint. Winning one is rather a different story, as the filers likely know. They get to be in the newspaper again over it, though, and it does give some marginal leverage for trying to get the suspended or expelled students reinstated.

They were given permission to protest, and in the interest of safety the school prohibited unaffiliated people from coming on campus. They insisted on bringing in outside agitators and the school revoked their permission because the group broke the terms of the agreement. So instead of simply going off campus to protest, they went ahead and illegally brought outside agitators on to the campus and tried to intimidate students and faculty.

Seems to me that they don't really have a leg to stand on here.

Did they expel all of them? If not that's a miss on Tulane's part.
