Will Warren

Unread post by Cheerleader »

There was a pitcher on our staff with me in 1962 named Will Warren. I noticed another pitcher in MLB named Will Warren, from Louisiana, who played at Southeastern. I was just wondering if that was a coincidence or he is his grandson. Does anybody know?

This is from his bio on the SELA baseball page:
PERSONAL: Born William Harper Warren in Jackson, Mississippi … son of Mike Warren and Lynn McKinley … has a younger brother, Matthew … uncle played baseball at Mississippi State … enjoys hunting and fishing … majoring in kinesiology at Southeastern.
No mention of his grandparents, but maybe you will recognize whether the Will Warren you knew had a son named Mike?

He just made his MLB debut with the Yankees. His numbers against us at SLU were not MLB-like!!

I knew Will for one year on the baseball team. I don't know if he got married, had any kids, or any grandkids. I just thought it was interesting that there was another pitcher named Will Warren who pitched in Louisiana. My memory of Will was that he was a "soft" pitcher and I could never understand how he got people out throwing slow stuff when I was always throwing as hard as I could. If Ray Nord is still on this site, maybe he remembers him as well.
