This is to try and prevent what has happened in cusa where liberty outspends everybody by a ton and so nobody else can really compete with them. We cannot fall into the trap of supporting this. We must get out of this conference. We must find a way to have similar commitment to smu and now Memphis.

While I agree, I do think that in the past year the AAC has shifted to letting the more numerous lower end of the conference drive decisions, and if that continues there will not only be a cap but it will be embarassingly low. Just another reason to succeed now in Football to get out.

USF, Memphis and Tulane fans seem to be in agreement that this is really bad. It will prevent the AAC from being a regular contender for the CFP spot if they are handcuffing the better programs.

One fan pointed out that you can tell what fan bases aren’t complaining about this.

If this gets voted in, it's time to forego being the team player. The AAC has no purview over FTW. How will they know how much our NIL is paying, and how will they enforce an NIL cap on FTW? Theoretically, If I want to pay our star QB $1MM to promote my business the AAC has no say-so in that.

We get a ton of lip service about our conference situation from Tulane but if we can’t get out of CUSAAC soon all the good progress we’ve made will fizzle away.

This is also going to be struck down as illegal in the current climate. If players haven't collectively bargained a cap, no judge is going to allow this to stand

To clarify, this isn't a NIL cap, it's a cap on direct revenue sharing, which is part of the House settlement. Two different pools of money.

Of course, it's still bush league garbage we should fight tooth and nail right up until we leave. Bluntly, I would consider leaving for the PAC-2, Mountain West, or even Sun Belt over this.
