And that’s the final. Wichita wins 12-2 (8).

Tulane will be the home team in the Championship game.

The AAC has stolen a second bid.

Just took a quick look and at least on Boyd's world tulane is rpi 94. Wichita is rpi 95. Let's hope the extra pitching they burned today and a continuation of hot bats tips the scales in our favor. These are pretty even squads on paper

gonna be pretty hard to fire Uhlman with consecutive tournament appearances... I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of portal talent coming to New Orleans for next season

Well, Wichita got three games against ECU this weekend to really help the RPI. But of course it doesn’t matter. We will be high 4 or possibly low 3 if there are 16 low ranked AQs.
Low three or high four is actually a good position to be in if they seed this correctly (matched with a weak #1), which they usually don’t.

We all know there has been a ton of bright spots on offense in the lineup so far in the tournament. Here are some of the notable individual stat lines for the first 3 games as we head into the title game:

Banks: 6-11, 5 R, 2 RBI, 1 HR
Tuft: 5-11, 3 R, 6 RBI, 1 HR
Rasmussen: 5-11, 4 R, 2 RBI, 1 HR
Marget, 5-12, 5 R, 3 RBI
Haas: 4-10, 3 R, 3 RBI
Linn, 4-11, 4 R, 7 RBI, 2 HR
Schulz, 3-10, 4 R, 4 RBI

Couple of notes to take with a grain of salt:

- Tulane is currently a -130 Money Line favorite at multiple Sportsbooks to win the AAC Tournament.

- Tulane is currently available at 300/1 to win the CWS.

- D1Baseball dot com has Tulane winning tomorrow and projected at the #4 seed in Starkville. Joining projected # 2 seed USM and #3 seed Nicholls St.

That would be nice. Plenty close enough for our fan base.

And six of them are > .400!

I joked yesterday that a lot of coaches claim regular season isn't as important and they plan to turn it on and play their best in the tournament, but those teams almost always fail... you rarely see a team NOT say that, but just go out and do it anyway. Are we the baseball equivalent of John Chaney's old Temple basketball teams? 8)

That said, I'd feel much better if this format was a legit double-elimination where WSU had to beat us twice today. Or, you know, to have played well enough during the regular season to be virtually guaranteed a spot like ECU.

Side note: how nice that we had basically no weather issues the entire tournament. A quick Google says today has a 0% chance of rain. Indianapolis is jealous.

Tommy LaPour, he of the 115 pitches thrown for Wichita St. on Thursday, is going to start today for the Shockers. It is quite a shock, I'd say. But in the end it may be a shock to the Wichita system. LaPour averages more than 4 walks per game and 1.45 Home Runs allowed per 9 innings. Look for a home run or 2 while he's on the mound.

Sorry Tulane didn’t steal anything. It won its tournament. The bubble teams bitching about it who may stay home should have played better and won their tournaments or surpassed ECU as at larges. ECU earned it too.

No one stole anything. Sorry to be blunt but that’s conventional wisdom BS.

Chill dude, this is just social media complaining (which is the primary use of social media) and no different than basketball. If your Twitter is full of people saying that the bids should go to teams with better resumes and not conference title winners then you should cull your feed better.

??? Another example that conventional wisdom works. ESPN announcers especially the SEC Network types repeat it religiously like a Dalai Lama chant.

Again if one accepts arbitrary classification as a “thief” then you deserve to be treated as second class.

Whether fair or not your public reputation is downstream from the public narrative. You ignore that at your own peril. This is all about correcting the reporting.

Ah, so you're saying ESPN should stop promoting the teams they're literally paying billions to broadcast. Good luck with that.

Here's a crazy idea: stop watching anything on ESPN outside of actual Tulane games.
(yeah, you gotta mute ESPN and listen to Gloor since the TV announcers spend time talking about the wonders of the SEC during our games)

Seriously, everyone here complains about the ESPN and talk radio bias while at the same time watching and listening to all their shows and reading all their articles. You're literally feeding the pig.

Tip of the cap to Matt Riser for beating WSU in the last game to flip Tulane into the 3 seed. Home field throughout proved to be an important advantage especially in the Championship game. ROLL WAVE!!!

Odd. Nothing on the official site at all. The only new baseball thing on the site is an NCAA tourney shirt, which calls it the CWS (not NCAA tourney) and has a weird (presumably preliminary?) graphic that has a bunch of gaps and DOESN'T include Tulane (pic below).

The fact Campus Connection doesn't have anything either tells me there's some licensing SNAFU that probably got stuck in the Memorial Day holiday. I wouldn't be surprised if it shows up Tuesday.
