Sounds like a good idea, but there’s a good chance this just further separates the P4 from everyone else.

Oh well, football is what matters anyway, and if we win there enough, we'll get P4 money eventually. It isn't always easy because baseball is my favorite sport (as a sport), but I try to remember that the only reason we remember who won the college world series last year is because we hate the team who won it, most sports fans don't even know/remember/care to remember.

20 years ago when Rick Jones was pushing for this, the P5 was against it because it evened the playing field. Now they are in favor of it because it would uneven the playing field further.
