Horrible umpire for UNO

Post by PeteRasche »

If you think the first call (strike two) is bad, wait til you see the next one (strike three)...

He’s been removed from this series and suspended indefinitely.

UNO is up 32-3 in the 6th inning today. They probably wish every pitch was a strike.

Saw this and thought "I've seen similar reactions from umpires".

Umm similar, maybe but I've never seen it so egregious and obvious.

It's similar but not to that incredibly egregious degree. Kudos the UNO catcher for stepping in before it got uglier. I don't ordinarily favor ending careers over a single incident, but that umpire should never work as an official again.

That’s the point. Like body cam footage, we witnessed it. Only argument ump can make is incompetence. Meanwhile Southland believed its lying eyes and properly suspended him.

No, the calls I've seen (we've all seen) were much less conspicuous. Smart umps know when to pick the pitch to call a ball a strike (and not on the very next pitch), which was a rather obvious throwaway pitch. This guy just didn't care what anyone was going to think. He should be banned for life.

Wow. F that guy; that interview shows a jaw-dropping lack of insight. He should never ump another game at any level.
