Re: Head Coach Hiring Discussion--All-encompassing

I understand the emphasis everyone here places on LA recruiting, but the fact of the matter is that TX is probably the best football state in the country. Having someone with the ability to walk into the big Houston/Dallas/Forth Worth/Austin schools and steal recruits would make all the difference ...

Re: Head Coach Hiring Discussion--All-encompassing

Not that it very important to the story, but it constantly amazes me how so-called journalists can get such simple facts wrong. Tulane has had two winning seasons since 1998, not one. Well, considering that some of our own fans (some of them in this very thread) seem to forget that, you can't blame...

tufinal4 I understand. I know that people are on edge and I hope I did not come across harsh. Just anxious like many of you. ESPN will not be "breaking" this story and I follow espn insider and all they do is watch for hot news and then write something up by "putting some stuff toget...

You people are turning Big Money into that creepy old guy that lives by himself with his 86 year old dog that is fabled to eat small children...He isn't seen for days, but shows up to yell "get off my lawn you little b@stards" every once in a while...

Re: Head Coach Hiring Discussion--All-encompassing

Truly people, do not pay much or any attention to things posted or tweeted by the local media. They have been wrong in just about every thing they have written about this porcess. This is a process that will end up with TU having a great name coach. No one has withdrawn, no one has turned us down. ...

Here's one from the Michigan newspaper: Rodriguez was bitter, and he considered taking the Southwestern Louisiana (now Louisiana-Lafayette) job that he had previously turned down. “He was so mad and so upset, disappointed with the way this situation at Tulane was handled that he just wanted to go to...

Re: Head Coach Hiring Discussion--All-encompassing

Here is a story that appeared in a South Carolina newspaper..It is about Rich Rod's path through Tulane on his way to Michigan. This line makes me think the chances of landing him could be good: The Green Wave drowned the Cougars 41- 27 to finish a perfect 12-0 season, then carried Rodriguez off the...

The "no lights" thing could be an attempt to keep the NIMBYs at bay for now..Get the stadium built and put lights after the fact...Plus, ever heard of temporary lighting???? The 98 team has because they played a night game at Michie stadium before Army had lights installed...

Re: Tulane hoops gets commitment, reports Dabney may not sig

Dabney isn't for sale. He's not that kind of player or that kind of guy. The advantage LSU has is that Gathers may want to go there which makes them attractive. If Dabney sticks with his original choice he'll be happy. It seems like these days everyone is for sale...But like you said, if his teamma...

IMO, Blouin will be good. He showed some things in the fall that indicated he can be effective in a Rich Rod style offense...His biggest thing is learning where to throw the ball but when he does throw it, he puts a lot of zip on the ball and is pretty accurate...

Is this team Div2 or is it NAIA ? a 9 point win in the 2nd game of the 2nd season is not impressive If this was our regular line-up, I would agree...The line-ups being used right now are experimental at best..Over the next couple of weeks I would expect that there will be a more concentrated group ...
