Re: 24/25 Men’s Basketball recruiting

Noticing that Tylan Pope entered the transfer portal last month. Any chance he comes back? When you're a big man on a team and you recognize the coach doesn't play big men and your team won't ever make the postseason, and you leave for a program where you'll have both a chance to play and also to m...

Re: Sion James enters the portal

So we always lament when we get a transfer from a P school and the announcers only refer to them as "{school name} - transfer". I wonder if we'll be watching a Duke game this year and hear "Tulane transfer". Hearing that on a blue blood would be... rare*. *obviously Caleb Daniels...

Re: Sion James enters the portal

It's also possible James has legit ACC star talent but has not been able to show it within our system. And if he goes to Duke he'll at least learn to play lock down man defense (which Duke has had since before I was in school), which he certainly didn't learn at Tulane. Heck, maybe NBA scouts at the...

Re: Mari Jordan Commiits

I say we struggle at first but end next season with some positives. Funny, last year we had a bunch of guys who'd been together 2-3 years and still struggled the entire second half of the season (against a very mediocre conference slate) with few positives. Why would an entire roster of new guys, b...

That sounds weird, but congrats Coach. In just as odd news, Florida beat Vanderbilt and James Madison beat Temple to advance to the American Conference Women’s Lacrosse Championship. For some reason I had seen recently the list of schools in the AAC in women's lacrosse. It's quite an array that see...

Sion posted on his Xitter he was in Memphis yesterday Xitter assploded over him playing for Memphis Today, it's being "explained" that he was in for a workout with the Grizz, not chatting with Penny Yeah, I saw James posted simply that he was in Memphis and saw everyone leaping to these m...

I, for one, am shocked - SHOCKED! - that we're hearing stories about schools in NYC and LA in the national headlines and not really anywhere else. The world revolves around those cities, does it not?

What exactly is "Sportsgrid"? Any bit of "reputable", or just one of dozens of social media feeds that publish lists to get clicks? Honestly asking.

Sion James enters the portal

I'm surprised by this one. Not a good look considering he always seemed to be Hunter's guy, his reliable do-it-all. Also, his extracurricular work and leadership seemed indicative of a loyalty or love for Tulane.

Wish the absolute best of luck to him.

Re: Bowling Finishes #15 in NTCA Final Rankings

The saddest thing about all of this is Tulane has the money to fund these sports so at the very least they are competitive. Aren't you literally the same guy who constantly complains that Tulane has no shot at a P4 because we don't have the money to spend to compete? If you are going to play, then ...

January 3, 1991: Tulane basketball beats FSU in Fogelman. Yes great decision and one many more will be making. Why did cam ward come back to school? Because his draft grade wasn't great and he can get paid as a pretty good college qb in a way he likely never will by the NFL. It's why there were way feerr underclassmen in this year's draft than the year be...

Yep, outlaw, that article asked what would stop this trend and answered it that it will only be simply supply and demand economics. There are too many schools for the number of people looking to go to college.

Is it possible the changes made to minor league baseball post-COVID could mean more talent is now choosing the college route, and therefore there is more talent in college baseball than previously? I had a co-worker a few years ago (coming out of COVID) who had pitched in college and was pitching in...

Packers QB room:
1. Jordan Love.
2. Guy who went to my HS.
3. Guy who went to my college.

Still can't root for the Packers but I'll at least keep an eye on them. 8)

My wife is traveling back to BSC next weekend for a big Greek weekend - apparently a lot of the Frats/Sororities are officially making all of their current members "alumni", even if not seniors. For my wife it's just going to be a huge reunion weekend with her old friends. My bro-in-law (w...

By my count we have 75 on scholarship as of tonight. I’m guessing who is in the fold as of now - 1. WR - Khai Prean 2. CB - Rishi Rattan 3. CB - Micah Robinson 4. OL - Derrick Graham 5. OL - Gabriel Fortson 6. PK (???) If my predictions are correct, that leaves 4 scholarships open. I think we go af...

Re: Bowling Finishes #15 in NTCA Final Rankings

I don’t know how much “look at those teams” really means in this situation. That was my point as well. Just because they aren't a household name via football or basketball prowess doesn't mean they aren't a dominant power in another sport. This is akin to someone 15 years ago hearing that your base...
