Re: FAU Coach resigns
Given this area of the country is an area CJ recruits the heck out of, I would expect us to make a pitch to anyone that begins to waver and is a position of need for us. From what I understand, WR coach Keith Williams is our primary recruiter in south Florida. Is he actually from Florida? Just wonde...

Re: CJ & Attendance
GB, thank you for setting the record straight. I apologize for making the "stupid" comment. Like FW said, the intention was to strike up a good debate until the "you smoke crack" comment. I should have ignored it.

Re: CJ & Attendance
Tulane was a power in its own right at one time. Do I believe they can be a national player again? You are damn right I do and I will always believe that.

Re: CJ & Attendance
No, there picking Ole Miss because they have a good staff, a good head coach, a great game day experience, a great campus, a pretty nice area, and the ability to play with anyone in the SEC (for heaven sakes, they beat LSU with Bo Wallace as there QB and 6 defensive starters missing). And perhaps a ...

Re: CJ & Attendance
I don't agree. Ole Miss has had periods of success. In fact, when Eli was there, they went 10-2 and if not for their field goal kicker, would have probably played for a piece of the title. I have been to Auburn, College Station, Baton Rouge, and Fayetteville and I prefer Oxford over any those towns....

LG, you couldn't be more right. In my younger days, I would bet on anything or anyone but would never bet against the Wave (lost a lot of money following my heart).

Re: CJ & Attendance
This was not meant as a discussion on what we can or can't do, etc., etc., to get and keep fans. That has been discussed ad nauseum. My question was just a simple hypothetical scenario. If we sign the three locals this year (which we won't) or one day sign the #1 football recruiting class in the cou...

Re: CJ & Attendance
Pete, you make a good argument and you lived it. The only argument I will use is publicity. My scenario is completely hypothetical. The free publicity, both locally and nationally, we would receive if we land Fournette, Dupre, and Noil or a #1 class would be a 1,000 times more than landing a Honeycu...

Re: CJ & Attendance
Windy, what are you - 5 years old? You couldn't name one person in the Honeycutt class or one baseball player from the 2005 team. Do you even know Fournette or Dupre? Instead of references to crack, just give your opinion. Thanks. FW, Ole Miss is doing it again this year. Hugh Freeze is probably the...

Re: CJ & Attendance
I remember 13,000 in the dome when we played Alabama in basketball when we had the Honeycutt class. I remember 9,000 at Zephyr when we were #1 and played Fullerton. Hypothetically, if we had the #1 recruiting class in the country in football, what would be the immediate effect on attendance? I say 4...

Re: CJ & Attendance
I was really just emphasizing what a couple of big time players could do to attendance. If we were in the dome next year, those three players alone would have the actual body count at five times what it is now. When the Honeycutt class came in, I remember how excited the fan base was and the crowds ...

CJ & Attendance
If CJ was able to pull off the biggest recruiting heist of the year - that means signing the holy trinity (Fournette, Dupre, & Noil) - how much of an increase in season tickets would you expect to see? I think you could lay off every marketing/sales person we have on staff because season tickets...

Re: Recruiting - Football, Basketball, and Baseball
Both of the kids from Georgia have really nice profiles. Landing both these kids would be sweet heading into the new conference. Something to keep our eyes on. Thanks for the information.

Re: Phil Steele mid-season all-cusa: Tulane with 5 1st teame
Nice reading. Leaving Scofield, Davis, and I think LaFrance off of any of the 3 teams is debatable.
I think Doss and Warmsley should both be considered for defensive player of the year at this juncture.

Thanks for the info. I heard two of the kids we were involved with in Georgia were top 150 kids and had ties to an AAU team that our new assistant was familiar with.

Re: FAU Coach on Us-Carl Pellini
That is exactly the way I would sum up our team. A couple of players, a great kicker, solid in ever phase except a lack of consistentcy offensively, great effort (I think this is the theme of this team), and great coaching. The FAU coach should be our PR guy. Speaking of coaching, Tulane better get ...

I could definitely vote for Art Briles and Jim Mora. I think others on that list should be David Cutcliffe, Gary Pinkel, the head coach at Houston, George O'leary, and CJ.

Re: Recruiting - Football, Basketball, and Baseball
Thanks for both replies. I saw Woullard play on national TV and was very impressed against John Curtis. Rangy and looks a little like LaFrance. I heard Encalade has been pretty dominant on his team, but it was just hearsay so I don't know how accurate the information was. With regards to uniforms an...
