Re: David Harris Talks to Guerry

I think he meant to say he doesn’t want to make a promise on a timeline he’s not sure he can keep (see the bubble construction). But that’s silly on his part. Someone needs to send him the article that outlines what smu did to get into the acc. Edit: yes I agree Pete. But if he had given a big rah r...

Re: David Harris Talks to Guerry

Yeah “false hope” probably isn’t something he should have said. He is the head of the athletic department, part of that job (or any ceos job) is inspiring hope and getting folks running through walls. It’s only false hope if you don’t believe you can get the job done. If the alums and students start...

Re: ACC Realignment Megathread

A sentiment i see online a lot is that this is history repeating itself and we have seen this all before. Denials from conferences and presidents and then a month later the opposite happens. It seems like a great deal of posturing and plausible deniability that they never tampered. Then once fsu and...

Re: Tulane (Football) Portal Tracker

I certainly hope he’s still joining us. I think it will be fascinating to see what the best defensive player in fcs will do at the fbs level. I think he would form a 3 headed monster with jenkins and Adington

It would have been fun to have a tradition of having someone from swim team/sailing team being Poseidon annually. I’m sure the swimmer would have a more fitting physique

Re: ACC Realignment Megathread

From Mcmurphy and sources it (see below) it Sounds like fsu likely has to stay in acc or jump to big 12 (which doesn’t make a lot of sense to me). If they jump to the big 12 that opens a potential path for Tulane. If they stay put in the acc it seems like there will be stability for a bit. A lot of ...

Re: 2024 Football Schedule

Eye opening. I wonder how those compare to last years opposing defenses. I do think Memphis’s defense is likely being under rated as they have so many new transfers. Pete raises a good point, I think last years defense wasn’t as heralded as it should have been because of the smu loss and how atrocio...

Re: Tulane offensive line brings significant experience, expectations into 2024 season

Since we are beating all the dead horses: I’m still not sure where most of the blame should go for that smu loss. A recap- Smu loses their star qb, we’re playing at a rocking yulman and we start the game with a strip sack td . . . Only to lose pretty handily. Was it Willie being check out ? Was it W...

Re: Tulane offensive line brings significant experience, expectations into 2024 season

The o-line will be fine in conference play. I think they will control the line against AAC opponents. Question mark against K-St and OU. Sigh, that was what made Ole Miss so frustrating - we more than held our own. And then randomly we regressed (and had some injuries) and started getting pushed ar...

Re: AAC preview

Athlon just published their AAC preview, they have Memphis as the favorite and beating UTSA in the CCG. But they’re pretty clear that the top tier in the AAC is all very close with any of the teams capable of winning. The top tier being Memphis, Tulane, UTSA & USF. They give UTSA the nod of maki...

Re: The Current with David Harris interview

The aac commissioner had a big interview and he discussed a variety of things, including not minding being honest about conference realignment. He said he thinks people should be more open and honest, and doesn’t mind Memphis clearly stating they want out. Alrighty, this is where David Harris should...

Re: Most valuable Tulane program ever?

I probably overpaid ($250) but I purchased an original 1932 Rose Bowl Program (USC vs Tulane). It was such a cool piece of memorabilia and when we had the matchup with USC on the cotton bowl it was even more fitting. I need to get it properly framed and mounted.

I wish they would find a semi retired, affluent and connected New Orleans local and bring him in for a similir type of roll to be another asset in fundraising and bringing the New Orleans power players into the fold.

Re: Vegas has us at 7.5

Bill C would have us as 5 point dogs to ULL on the road. I absolutely think this is more indicative of a confounding factor/blind spot in his algorithm than reality. I’m taking Tulane to go in there and put our little brothers in their place. When we were having a hard time figuring out Vegas o/u on...

Re: The Current with David Harris interview

It has been mentioned that our big time donors (hertz, yulman, goldring, glazer, benson etc) have now fulfilled their past previous multi year donations (for the stadium, basketball stadium etc), seemingly freeing them to make another round of donations. I think this was something Dannen mentioned a...
