Re: LSU Recruiting

Sure you can have it both ways. If the University is pushing athletics, then NIL will flourish. Nope. Either give to NIL or don't complain about recruiting. Disagree. Will be more prevalent when salaries kick in next year. Need that school support. We can tackle next year's problem next year. For n...

Re: Sincere Haynesworth signs with the Saints

Not sure if this goes somewhere else, but Sincere was drafted in the 8th round of the UFL draft by the San Antonio Brahmas. I think he can still participate in NFL activities, but if he doesn't make it there then the Brahmas would have his rights. Congrats to him. Is that the team CJ is head coach ...

You need NIL to get players out of the portal and we have fans that refuse to give to NIL but sit around and blame the administration. Can't have it both ways.

Re: Tulane becoming nationally relevant?

Do we even have a male swim team? I found myself asking the same question as I was suggesting to use one to be Poseidon. I never did look it up. We haven't had a men's swim team since it was cut to allow basketball to return after the scandal. Because everyone knows you can't simultaneously have a ...

Re: ACC Realignment Megathread

A sentiment i see online a lot is that this is history repeating itself and we have seen this all before. Denials from conferences and presidents and then a month later the opposite happens. It seems like a great deal of posturing and plausible deniability that they never tampered. Then once fsu an...

Teo Banks 18th round to the Nationals, 530. Saw on Twitter (because I certainly hadn't remembered) that he'd previously been drafted in the 12th out of HS. Hopefully the fact he dropped 6 rounds is motivation to come back to Tulane next year. "Maybe the place that hasn't helped my draft stock ...

Re: ACC Realignment Megathread

The funny part is where all these university presidents and other unnamed, anonymously-quoted, high-up administrators act like these decisions aren't 100% made by ESPN and Fox. If ESPN wanted the SEC to take FSU and Clemson, ESPN would be like "you're taking FSU and Clemson and we're paying yo...

Last year one guy picked in first 10 rounds failed to sign with the pros...1. That’s crazy. I guess the changes to salary slots are mostly affecting HS kids not going pro early. Tulane reintroduced the "Angry Wave" athletics logo in 2016, after a 19 year hiatus.

The o-line will be fine in conference play. I think they will control the line against AAC opponents. Question mark against K-St and OU. Sigh, that was what made Ole Miss so frustrating - we more than held our own. And then randomly we regressed (and had some injuries) and started getting pushed ar...

Re: AAC commissioner Tim Pernetti said the conference may discuss having its own NIL cap

If this gets voted in, it's time to forego being the team player. The AAC has no purview over FTW. How will they know how much our NIL is paying, and how will they enforce an NIL cap on FTW? Theoretically, If I want to pay our star QB $1MM to promote my business the AAC has no say-so in that.

Since we are beating all the dead horses: I’m still not sure where most of the blame should go for that smu loss. A recap- Smu loses their star qb, we’re playing at a rocking yulman and we start the game with a strip sack td . . . Only to lose pretty handily. Was it Willie being check out ? Was it ...
