Re: Lose by 15 to Oklahoma
UL and USF can certainly beat us and no one nationally would be surprised. These are tricky games coming after two very physical games we lost. We are a 3 pt favorite this week and will probably be the same next week. Our PK is hurt and we need him in these two games. I expect us to win every game,...

Re: Pac 12 Realignment
I will say, I'm very interested in remaining connected to Memphis. Outside of our former SEC peers (including GT), they are the team we've played most often in football and our second most common opponent in basketball. Geographically they are a good fit as a partner and they are committed to athle...

Re: Pac 12 Realignment
We can sub out Coastal for another high profile G5 east of or near the Mississippi. Or we can go nuts and add Air Force in the west to get them to 7, and have Tulane, Memphis, UTSA, Appalachian State, USF, Army, and Navy in the east. Play the Commander in Chief games as non-conference games in the y...

Re: Pac 12 Realignment
My theory is this: They have six teams out west. Add us, Memphis, UTSA, USF, Appalachian State, and Coastal Carolina and then we have a 12 team league. Play 5 games in your division and rotate the other side. Similar scheduling would apply for basketball. Olympic sports would require additional crea...

Pac2 adds SDSU, Boise St, Fresno St, and Colorado St for 2026
They need at least two more programs and speculation is that they are looking at Tulane and Memphis. That would get them to 8, but four more schools would make for a nice East/West split to help with travel costs. Maybe they take someone like UTSA and then raid the top of the Sun Belt. Or maybe they...

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5754579/2024/09/09/college-football-rankings-134-teams-week-2/ Oklahoma looked shockingly poor against Houston but stays at No. 14 as a result of the teams behind it. No. 16 Kansas State escaped Tulane, No. 17 Oklahoma State allowed 648 yards but somehow won a bizarr...

Re: Calls by the officials
From Stuard Mandel at The Athletic: 12. The Big 12 dodged a pair of upsets in the early window Saturday when No. 16 Oklahoma State, down 21-7 at one point, held off Arkansas 39-31 in double overtime, and No. 17 Kansas State, down 20-10 at halftime, survived 34-27 at Tulane. The losers of those games...

Re: Calls by the officials
Yesterday's robbery was a teaching moment. You have to play as close to 100% when officiating is as incompetent as it was yesterday...and I'm being both generous and polite with that assessment of the officiating. Leave no room for doubt or shenanigans and basically play in a manner that renders the...

Hardaway has been to the NCAA tournament just twice in six seasons at the helm of his alma mater, winning a first-round game over Boise State in the 2022 tournament. Hardaway's tenure has also been mired by off-court issues. There was an 18-month NCAA investigation due to alleged violations involvi...

Re: KSU-Tulane
Personally, I would like a bit higher temps with typical New Orleans humidity. It's to our advantage with a team coming from Kansas. Let their players try to acclimate. We'd have them worn down midway through 3rd Q. The humidity would help, but Kansas gets really hot so the heat wouldn't be an issu...

Re: Starting qb
The ESPN crew made a couple of comments last night that I think are relevant to our QB competition. The in-helmet communication system probably helps younger QBs to manage the game, as does the use of tablets on the sidelines. These things can be a force multiplier for a QB who already has a good he...

Re: Wave chances for Playoff
Jmu is not going to be a threat, they lost most of their talent and their coach. Charlotte was without most of their first string guys according to their coach, and is probably the worst team in the aac even when they do. Agree, I don't see them running the table in the belt. Temple would like a wo...

Remember to remind people. Not fair to compare LSU’s loss vs USC to Tulane’s win vs USC.
The Trojans had #1 Draft Pick Caleb Williams when Tulane beat them.
Completely different.

Re: I have moved on. Good Luck Willie/Wes/Hester/TU23 vs UNLV
The Houston OL was abysmal. Worried about Willie (and the large Cooger NIL) to try to snatch Hurst annd any of their other TU OL recruits. All’s fair…. I think the guys who would have gone there already went. But there is a remedy for anyone worried about NIL $: https://www.fearthewavecollective.co...
