Chance to win a national title there. 100% she was being recruited by them behind the scenes before she ever hit the transfer portal

Well... she did tweet that the article that said she left because she wanted to play in the NCAA Tournament was a lie...

What is she supposed to say: that she's leaving because she doesn't like the direction of the program? She's was trying to stay respectful.
Heck in her interview, Stockton said she was sore after the game.

I wish the player well; but man everything about this is disappointing.

Whether she was or wasn't if our program was worth a damn she would't have left.

Yall don't have very long memories do you? Mississippi St were in the national title game in 2017 and 2018. Their coach left to go to Texas and this was the new coach's first year. No they weren't great this season, but it's reasonable to think they've got the resources to get back to the top and having a player like Jerkaila pushes that notion forward.

Meanwhile what are we doing to improve our women's basketball program?

Long enough to remember that the coach who led Miss State is now at Texas. Miss State was good when she signed here. She comes in here and TU has a big senior class and lots of optimism. Great! Except that we lose 7/8 to decent teams and she ends up sore.

The answer is..nothing. Just bring everybody back!
Can't leave that comfort zone.

Yep, I don't disagree with you at all. My comments were directed at people above who are acting like Miss. St. isn't a place you can go and win. I noted their coaching change in my post as well but even with that change it's not hard to hold Miss. St. and Tulane side by side over the last few years and see why a player that wants to win would prefer Starkville. That we got her was a coup, that we lost her is a major failure that underscores the consistent mediocrity and worse that program has seen over the last decade+

This is the biggest thing to take from this move.

As someone who went from Tulane (for undergrad) to Mississippi State (for grad school), I can wholeheartedly confirm that she is in for a MAJOR culture shock.

Other than this year, they've been a good WBB program. It's an upgrade for her, but it is also an indictment of our current program.

Jerkaila was named Louisiana Freshman of the year and put on the 1st team All Louisiana team by the Louisiana Sports Writers.

Krystal Freeman (2nd team) and Arsula Clark (3rd team) also named.

Is the transfer situation in women's basketball worse than men's? I know I've lost some interest because we seem to have a completely different lineup every year. And never get close to the postseason.
