We aired plenty of grievances this year, well in advance of Festivus.

I've always equated the Festivus Pole with a 'stripper's pole' so my visions of Festivus maybe be different from the norm ...

Re: Yes, it's today...
So this just took a surreal and personalized turn for me. If my mom manages to make her retirement dream of a Spanish apartment possible, we'll be spending some Christmases in Spain, and were worried how to explain to wavetot that in Spain Santa doesn't bring the presents on Dec 25, rather the Three Kings bring them on Jan 6, so this year we all decided to save a gift for each other (labeled from the three kings) for Jan 6 to introduce the idea........my gift, purchased by my own mom, a pair of Festivus boxer shorts. I'm not kidding. I would say who makes these, who buys them? But my mom did. So I guess that "explains" everything

Would you still be there on the 6th? Plus, I guess your mom is doing this soon? Only so many more Christmases with "Santa" anyway.WaveProf wrote:So this just took a surreal and personalized turn for me. I'm really disturbed by the fact people are more interested in retirement homes, Santa, and/or Carnival season. I thought people would be sufficiently disturbed that 1) one can purchase festivus underwear 2) my mother chose to do so, for me no less

Not really surprised your mom still buys your underwear and that your underwear has pictures on itWaveProf wrote:I'm really disturbed by the fact people are more interested in retirement homes, Santa, and/or Carnival season. Re: Yes, it's today...
Reminds me of the Dennis Miller quote from the 90s when the left wingers were selling boxers with a photo of Newt Gingrich on the front and the "Contract with America" on the back: "I couldn't possibly wear a pair of underwear with a picture of a bigger d!ck ON than I have IN it."windywave wrote:Not really surprised your mom still buys your underwear and that your underwear has pictures on it
