I wish it was simpler. The best explanation I can give is "You cannot post a large picture directly from your hard drive to 'this' forum. However with a little practice the process is NOT as hard as it seems! This forum is phpBB code which is a simplification of HTML code (the usual webpage building code).
An Example is:
To underline text on YOGWF, on a "New Post" or "Reply to this Post" we hit the [ u ] box above and we put the text in between the [u.] & [/u.] and we get underlined text.
For HTML we would have to write <span style="text-decoration: underline;">underlined text</span>
For a photo or image "on the forum page", you need a web link.
However the posting of an image/photo/picture is NOT as intimidating as you think or as my bombastic instructions imply. I mean, “I learned how to do it” and if I learned anyone can…
To try out the process or to practice you can use this forum and reply to this message or go to the “I’m a Rookie, Test post here” Forum” http://www.yogwf.com/viewforum.php?f=1 and practice there. Certainly that is the …Test post here Forum’s purpose! So decide which forum you want to use to practice and "do your worst!".
Also to practice you can open two windows or two tabs of YOGWF so you can follow the instructions and practice at the same time (or if you are stubborn like me, copy and paste the instructions to a word.doc and use one open window of YOGWF. This drives my sons crazy... )Try this to practice the picture posting concept…(If you are replying to this post)Go up to the infamous picture of Andre Anderson on top left this page (and the YOGWF). If you right click on the picture, a pop-up screen will appear and "Properties" will be at the bottom. Go to Properties with your cursor and Highlight "Properties" and left click.
Then you will see another pop-up screen entitled Properties then listed are:
Protocol
Type
then:
Address: (URL)
Next to Address: (URL) is the link: http://www.yogwf.com/styles/subsilver2/imageset/football_33.gif (This the webpage address were the Anderson picture is stored)
Then left-click on the beginning or end of the web address of the picture and highlight the entire address. Then right click on the highlighted address and move down to the third word on the list of the pop-up and click Copy. The entire highlighted web-link address of the Andre Anderson picture above is now copied.
To post this picture on this forum, all you have to do is reply to a post or begin a new topic. So click the or buttons at bottom left of of this post thus opening a new topic or replying to this post.
Once the “Reply” or “Open New Topic” window appears, look above the writing screen and you will see the Style buttons: [B], , [u],
, etc, all the way to [Img]. Press [Img] then [img.][/img.] [i](no period in [img.]) will appear wherever your curser is on the writing screen.
Right click in between the two [imgs] then left click and a pop-up will appear. Highlight Paste on the pop-up screen and the Andre Anderson picture web-link address will paste in between the two [imgs] at the *. [img.]* [/img.]Thus:
[img.]http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/attportal/Groups/135/135427/folders/304311/2434578tul-bask2.jpg[/img.] (no periods in [imgs])
Now without the periods it is: (You cannot see the link and []'s )

The Anderson picture/photo should be above.
This appears after I preview or submit the post!
With this method you can go to almost any picture, image or photo on the web and get the link (by right clicking the photo, clicking on Properties, then copying the web-link) and clicking [Img] then linking the picture/photo/image to your YOGWF post or response.
Another example is from the Tulane site.
Follow this link: http://www.tulanegreenwave.com/sports/m-basebl/recaps/022110aaa.html
You see the picture of Jeremy Schaffer by Dave.
Right click on it, go down to Properties and left click. Copy the link then come back to the forum and use the “I’m a Rookie, Test post here” Forum” viewforum.php?f=1 . Once in the forum click either the or buttons depending on if you are testing "New" or a "Reply".
Click the [Img] button on top of the forum and place the link in between the two [imgs]. Once you "Preview" or "Submit" the post the image will be in your post. When using a photo with a copyright, you should give credit. Once again, to post/link '”YOUR" pictures to the YOGWF forum pages the picture/photo/image you desire to post has to reside initially on a webpage and that webpage "must allow you to link to it." Thus the reason I suggested using a free image storage page such as:http://www.flickr.com Photobucket.com picasa.google.com photobucket.com imageshack.us http://www.shutterfly.com
(All these image storage web sites are free and allow links to/from their pages)
Flicker and Photobucket are very easy to sign up for using minimal personal information and your images can be made private/restricted so only you can view them. I even use them.
Then just follow the above process.
"Piece of Cake", gentlemen..!
I did not mean to come off as crass by just posting the link to the page as an answer however I was posting from my phone at the time. If I can explain anything else please PM or email me.
Thanks guys,
Jim
