Seriously, put the word penalties in quotation marks.

Now all those penalties against them for the basketball infractions... what's that? Oh. Nevermind. :roll:

Harshest penalties are against the assistant coach, which I'm guessing is the former OL coach that they fired and (unsuccessfully) tried not to pay so that's probably what the school wanted anyway.

It seems like as away to keep CFB under their umbrella, the NCAA will be moving away from long term penalties that impact specific programs or institutions and instead penalizing coaches and other specific staffers. There's been a lot of chatter about this with a new constitution on the way and the CFP saying it doesn't want to take over administration of the sport.

This is only for the most minor case pending with the NCAA, to be clear. One hopes that there will be more substantial penalties for the much more serious cases still pending.
