ESPN announced that Gameday will be at the Red River Shootout between struggling Oklahoma and unranked Texas while there is a top 5 matchup between Iowa and Penn St the same day.
Difference, if you hadn’t figured it out, is OU and Texas, two soon to be SEC teams, are playing on ESPN while the Penn St game will be on their competitor, Fox.
I understand it’s all about the business now, but in the past, ESPN would have picked the best game regardless of what network is showing it.

The real travesty is that ESPN could've celebrated UConn vs UMass and chose OU Texas instead. That's strike two after missing out on Vandy UConn this past week.
Re: ESPN gonna ESPN
I forgot about that. Well, forget what I said. Maybe the decision is just based on this traditionally being a big game every year.

Weren’t they also at Penn St Auburn a couple weeks ago?

Personally I'd rather watch OU-UT than PSU-Iowa. That has the makings of a boring ass game.
