I watched a little of Friday night festivities on TV after Army game last night was rained out and it appeared to this not particularly attentive eye that significant parts of SKA were curtained off to "concentrate" the attendees seating.
I don't know about tonight or tomorrow but I expect if you show up right when it starts (or wait perhaps five minutes) you will not have to pay any premium at all and may very well get a significant discount. I watched my first Super Bowl from the upper deck at Tulane Stadium and it cost $15 because I got the ticket shortly before game time. Had a great time enjoying the Chiefs upset. Supply and demand still rule. Scalpers have an evaporating asset and price accordingly both to better and worse.

Author mentions N.O. not being an especially strong basketball market and "All Star (game) fatigue" but doesn't mention Mardi Gras as potential causes.
NBA All Star Game Attendance
Re: NBA All Star Game Attendance
It was played in the dome for some reason, thus the curtains last night.
I'd imagine you're correct about last minute tickets though.

Thanks for pointing out it was the Dome. As I said I was not particularly attentive nor interested. (Mark Cuban on the court, off the court, in the stands or on TV. WTF cares?)Baywave1 wrote:I watched a little of Friday night festivities on TV after Army game last night was rained out and it appeared to this not particularly attentive eye that significant parts of SKA were curtained off to "concentrate" the attendees seating.

However let's just note when they have a Final Four in the Dome, they don't need curtains. I wonder if Tulane lent the NBA their's from graduation?
