UConn WBB upriver

Post by PeteRasche »

Beat LSU 76-53 in Baton Rouge. UConn had 20 turnovers and 17 fouls (I'm sure the people in black and white stripes on the court were trying their best to help LSU), but no matter. After the game Auriemma chatted with Simone Augustus (former LSU star) and apparently they talked about how far LSU has fallen in a decade, Auriemma saying "it's not even night and day". Yet I feel like we were competitive with LSU then, as well... Maybe not, I can't recall.

I know pundits have not made the UConn women prohibitive favorites again this year, and they may even lose a game or two, but I have no doubt the Huskies cut down the nets again.

Agree, TUPF. They lost a lot but they still have crazy talent. In the women's game, one good player can take you to the final four; they have a dozen. Against LSU, their 6'3" forward Samuelson was being doubled inside and left alone outside, so she just drilled 7 threes instead of banging inside. You know, no big deal.
