YOGWF Rules

Ye Olde Green Wave Forum is intended to be a venue where members of the Tulane family can meet to discuss Tulane athletics and share our affinity for Tulane University. Visitors to this forum include Tulane fans and alums, but players/recruits/potential students and their respective parents, coaches, administrators, and members of the press. Occasionally non-Tulane fans may read opinions that they do not agree. YOGWF IS a Tulane forum. Flaming is Not allowed. Additionally YOGWF discourages flaming of any Internet forum. For Tulane supporter's activity on the forum must be conducted first and foremost in a way that reflects the dignity of our University. It must also be conducted in a way that maximizes the forum's benefit to its intended constituency. Accordingly, the following rules are established as a guideline to posters and administrators alike. Posts that exceed the guidelines will be deleted and continued breaches of the rules will subject the poster to being banned.

The rules are as follows:

1. Use of profanity or posting obscene content, or links to such, is not allowed.

2. Personal insults of Tulane players, coaches, administrators or fellow posters are not allowed. In addition, do not call for the firing of a coach during their season or post rumors on player injuries or post or contribute rumors concerning anything to do with information inflammatory or harmful to Tulane University or Tulane Athletics. (These are common sense rules to avoid potential harm to our athletic programs).

3. Posting under different monikers is not allowed.

4. Posts that attempt to make commercial use of this site must be approved by JtS at clubs87490@mypacks.net prior to posting.

5. Posts of a religious or political nature, no matter how well intended, can be provocative and divisive and are outside the purpose of this forum. Expressions of sympathy or asking for the forum's thoughts are exempt from this rule.

6. Please do not post copyrighted, private or for-pay info on YOGWF without at a minimum proper citation (at least link the story). And with Tulane for-pay site's info, it's best to respect the site and the owner and do not pass on their information here unless you have permission from the owner.

7. Complaints regarding the activity of administrators or the discussion of said activity on the board shall not be presented publicly on the forum. Comments or complaints should be sent through the forum's personal message personal system or be addressed to JtS at clubs87490@mypacks.net or use the " Complaints/Suggestions-" Forum.

8. Regulation of the activity of this board is not strictly limited to these guidelines. The "spirit of the rules" will be enforced as judged by the forum administrators. The forum administrators will use their judgment in regulating board activity with JtS and the moderators being the ultimate arbiter. You will be warned privately, put on leave from YOGWF or asked to leave the YOGWF as a final result.

9. Tulane and the fans and supporters are at a crossroads moving forward into 2010. As a framework for discussion and debate going forward I suggest strongly the following guidelines to civil and productive discussion and debate concerning Tulane University and Athletics.

A. Wait until the end of a sport's season before declaring all is lost, complete defeat or personally giving up before posting on YOGWF.

B. For every problem, issue, concern have a reasonable, workable solution. Example: Fire the coaches, athletics staff and administrative staff and hire Lou Holtz is not realistic. Post your thoughts, ideas and solutions within the realm of reality and saneness.

C. Do not under any circumstances personally attack players. YOUR POST WILL BE DELETED AND YOU WILL TAKE A VACATION FROM YOGWF.

D. Personal attacks against anyone are old, hackney and beneath all of us. If you feel a coach had done a poor job then say so and keep the personal insults to your self. Offer solutions or ideas to fix your alleged issues. 99.99% of the posters on YOGWF are intelligent, thoughtful fans so let's act like it.

E. If you have a wayward accusation, it is best to back it up everything with facts. The grassy knoll is closed as is the revisionist history section.

I ask the following guidelines are used as a framework for discussion and debate going forward...

In the end we all want the same thing...
