She has a great reputation and is very well-liked locally, although I'm not sure what in her background makes her prepared for this sort of very senior position.

I do think she has the people skills to excel, but there will be a learning curve. Interesting choice.

She is very well connected politically, which is never a bad thing for a top university official.
