We lost a great and wonderful Tulanian. From his obituary:
Robert J. Boudreau, 79, of Lake Charles died Feb. 7, 2010, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Boudreau was born in New Orleans but lived in Lake Charles his entire life. After graduating from Lake Charles High, Bobby attended Tulane University, where he was a member of SAE fraternity. He received his law degree from Tulane and then moved to Lake Charles to practice law with Kaufman, Anderson Law Firm. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Cathedral, where he served as a trustee for many years. Bobby was recently practicing law with The Woodley Williams Law Firm.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Wilmer Boudreau; his mother, Opal LeBlanc Boudreau; and a son, Brad Boudreau. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Field Boudreau; a son, Robert F. Boudreau of Houston; a sister, Patsy Calhoun and husband John Thomas of Lake Charles; one nephew and four nieces.
Bobby will always be remembered as a loving family member who loved life to his fullest. His passions were traveling, New Orleans and Tulane University. Bobby touched the lives of many friends and family and will always be remembered for his many good times.
During his years of practicing law, Bobby chaired many boards and was an active member of his community.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, from Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Graveside services will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Monsignor Jace Eskind, Monsignor Harry Greig and the Rev. Kenneth Bienvenu will officiate. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today, Feb. 8, at Hixson’s Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Tulane Law School and Tulane Athletics, Tulane University, 6823 St. Charles Ave., 218 Gibson Hall, New Orleans, LA 70118; Immaculate Conception Cathedral, 935 Bilbo St., Lake Charles, LA, 70601; The American Cancer Society; or the charity of one’s choice.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Alston, Kyle Alston, Richard Calhoun Jr., Richard Calhoun III, David Faulkner, Jeff Meaux, Zachary Yoder and Phil Yoder.
