They're not totally wrong. I feel like they should be ahead of us based on on field results. They definitely don't lose much. They open with Texas. If they can upset them, they have a legit shot at the NY6 bid

The model has them between 7-8 wins. Basically regressing towards the mean.

My thought is: I hope it's accurate!
They've got Bama at #1 so they must be doing something right...

Bill Connelly's got his first AAC preseason preview up and we are included as part of the bottom half of the conference. Some really good tidbits there about us and some of our opponents. The rest of the AAC will be out next Tuesday I think.

It stings to be reminded we have lost 6/7 one score games over the last couple of seasons. Would be nice to catch some breaks in those this year. Also good to see SP+ projects us to go 6-6. With some luck, that might point us to an 8-4 kind of year we've been hoping for.

I think we will match-up better far better than on paper vs Cincinnati at home and the Malzahn version of UCF. At Ole Miss could be ugly if we havent improved notably on pass defense.

I have spent this beautiful day watching the game against Memphis and highlights from some other games and if we improve at allowing the big play on defense I don’t think we lose more than 2 conference games. That means I think we can lose the OU and Ole Miss games and finish 8-4.

I also watched the highlights from the Houston win 2 seasons ago and Pratt is on another level than McMillan was.

A lot of things need to happen like Spears being near 100% but 8-4 is doable.
