rain sunday what to do?

Post by noladave »

with these 4 game weekends, anyone know the protocol fo Sunday rain outs? currently 81% chance of rain in Tampa, on Sunday

do they end up playing just 3 games? try doubleheader on both Friday and Saturday?

or try to play the game with a no later than hh:mm finish time

Play a DH with Yanks-Rays in the St. Pete Dome. May double the number of fans.... :-D

The reason most schools are electing to do the Friday doubleheader is because it leaves Saturday open to either finish a game or play an extra one if needed because Sunday travel prevents that. I would think DH Saturday is likely if Sunday looks bad.

Interestingly, I noticed yesterday that MLB is doing 7-inning doubleheaders for health reasons. Kinda crazy we might have 36 innings in 2 days.

We’re not playing baseball this weekend. COVID-19 within the USF program

Sticking with the subject of baseball, tjtlja jokingly asked if we were scrimmaging. I’d assume we are traveling back either today or tomorrow and will likely add practices and possibly a scrimmage or two. This cancellation hurts in the sense that they were beatable and we could have added to the win total while getting ready for a more difficult series next week. On the flip side, their RPI could actually hurt ours if that were to become a factor.

Not that it matters but it looks like Houston will be the series that is bad for your RPI

What happened to them? They were the top program in the conference for a while.
