They do have the greatest mascot in all of sports. Please tell me he is making the trip. I get a laugh out of a mascot that is wider than he is tall.

Is Western Kentucky good for anything? IIRC bourbon and horses are central KY and Eastern KY is Appalachia which we all know what that means

Western Kentucky is actually closer to Central Kentucky longitudinally. Discuss that, too.

They do have the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, so there's that. Even if you don't care for Corvettes, props to them for being (probably?) the only major museum that had a massive sinkhole occur within the facility and just decided to roll with it and make it part of the display...

WKU is 3-4, but two of those came in a series win against Cincinnati last weekend. They were picked near the bottom of their division in CUSA so preseason expectations aren't high. After what we saw Wednesday I'm not going to speculate anything, but it would be nice to see vintage Olthoff supported by some early then sustained offense. Really would be a lift to sweep the series if we could.

Grant had early Civil War success in Western KY as well. Ft. Donelson is on the KY-TN border out there.

We need to sweep. To do that, Tulane has to win tonight.

Otherwise I've always liked WKU as the red-headed stepchild just not this weekend. It carries a chip on its shoulders against the two state big guys like USM and ULL do similarly.

OK I discussed it

I assume game time is still as scheduled and not moved up because of rain?
lsu decided to lose* to Oral Roberts early before the rain came.

*they have plenty of time as they are only down 18-7 in the 4th inning. lsu has used 7 pitchers so far.

We won’t lose today. Olthoff is money, book it!

Now Saturday & Sunday will need offensive output. I think we sweep.

I was surprised they didn’t try to move it up early, but with Covid these days, there were probably several logistical issues preventing it.

that lsu pitcher never made it out of the first, giving up 5 runs.. ORU came to play

The comments from lsu fans on the lsu baseball Twitter feed were funny. According to them they have no pitchers and hitters are too inconsistent to beat SEC teams.

Has their mascot ever lounged in front of their administration building with a six pack?

If they did, the first post would say “they are 3-5 and have not won a weekend series yet”
