I was waiting for an official Boys of Summer release like we usually get, but we haven't got one so far. I know where a few of them are in Cape Cod, Ripken, etc. but there are so many of these dang leagues I can't keep up. Any tips are welcome!

So it’s Portland Pickles pitcher Pellerin? My bad jokes practically write themselves.

checking stats:
Bedgood hitting just over .400
S. Gozzo hitting .333
Pellerin, Campbell, Cellucci all getting innings and doing well.
Solesky has pitched just a handful of innings.
Sepcich is 1 hit for 24 ABs
Hoese hitting high .280s with 3 HRs

Bedgood is a good looking young hitter. If he continues to delelop he will be tough to keep out of the lineup. The question is where he fits defensively or is he the DH.
The same could be said for G. Mathews and L. Glance.

All 3 are lefties, which is good.

Put Mathews at 1st, Glancy in left, and at least DH Bedgood. (all can hit for power)

With some improvements in our pitching next year, we good do some damage. :-)

We have Jensen back at first this year. Good problem to have.

Why isn’t Jensen and Johnson not playing summer ball? It makes you a better player in the long run.

It could be injury related as they both battled through injuries for most of the season.

When Jensen missed some games this past year Jewitt played Bedgood and Artiques at first, not Mathews.
Is he a real defensive liability there ?
Can Jensen play in the outfield ? He was a middle infielder in JC and looks to be pretty athletic.

Mathews did play first some. Artigues and Bedgood were used there earlier in the year when Mathews was mired in a hitting slump.

I too remember Mathews playing some at first base. I don’t remember him being very good at it, but I may be confusing him with Bedgood. None of the guys filling in for Jensen really looked that great playing first.

Second summer update. Glad to see Solesky is healthy and back to pitching, and even decently too.

What's still concerning to me is our pitchers' walk numbers. These kids are hitting with wooden bats. Challenge them.

On back to back night Justin Campbell and Brendan Cellucci throw shutouts
Justin goes 4+ innings without giving up a hit with 2 K and 2 BB
Brendan goes 6 innings 4 H 7 K 0 BB. He threw 70 pitches 50 for strikes

Connor Pellerin has thrown 15.1 innings 10 H 24 K 9 BB

Josh Bates is scheduled to pitch Monday

David Bedgood injured his quad and has returned home

Another update. Peep those Celucci numbers. Glad to see everyone pitching well (I’d have said that anyway for anyone under 5.00 ERA considering what our benchmark was)

I was in the Berkshires over the weekend and went to a North Adams Steeplecats game with my nephew, sister and my kids. It's definitely fun for the kids, but I was underwhelmed by the quality of play. Most of the players on both teams were from very small schools and the pitchers were throwing batting practice fastballs. They are in the same league as the Newport team that the Tulane kids play for. Newport does have a roster full of kids from major programs like Vanderbilt, Louisville and TCU.
