I really like this. Even if it means a number of people outside the Tulane sphere think its a corny logo it will get people talking. It gives us a unique look!

You can't hand ESPN the angry wave logo then have the Crest T at midfield.

It'll be interesting to see how many other things with the Crest T get pulled out. Everyone I hear from at Tulane swears up and down that its gonna be a mix moving forward and that Angry Wave as the official one is mostly abotu TV branding. But its also clear that TD vastly prefers Angry Wave, so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Who thinks its corny? I've yet to hear anything but positive reviews from people outside the Tulane sphere. Heck, the Rutgers fan board ended up having a whole 3 page thread about how much they liked it when the saw it as my avatar a few years back. I have had LSU fan friends tell me how much they like Angry Wave. I'm not saying there aren't people out there who think its corny, but I've yet to see evidence of it in person or online

Interesting, it's a cut out. I thought it would be painted over.

It looks like it's made the same way the birds on bat logo in Turchin. I would think this lasts longer in the weather than painted turf will.

I thought it was pretty clear that the reason they just sold off all that old gear was that the ComboverT was gone for good.

Any updates on the Angry Wave Mardi Gras statue to be placed on the top of the scoreboard? Or has that been scrapped? Depending on the implementation, that will be one of the most cool, unique items anywhere in the country if we do it.

That would have been my instinct too, and on some level it still is, but it runs counter to what I keep getting told. Hence why I'm curious

As I told a friend (also a poster here) this morning, as much as I hated the trend when it started, I've given in to "what's modern cool" and I'd like to see the angry wave in Devlin be almost the width of the court, virtually spanning 3pt line to 3pt line. Google Cal's basketball court with the massive bear (my friend found that picture as an example) and that's the scale I'd like to see.

btw, Troy Dannen tweeted this afternoon that the Angry Wave "water feature" in end zone will be installed beginning right after July 4th holiday at Yulman Stadium.

The answer is yes and no.
A lot of the surplus was the older comb over wave, the one where the wave was teal Image

The newer one is slime green Image
