Two recruits with Tulane in their top 3 are supposed to make an announcement today. One of which is the #2 DB in Alabama.

names, please?

It's always good to be as specific as possible, especially in the context of your post because there has already been confusion over who the #2 DB in Alabama is, exactly. Some here thought that referred to Terrence Dunbar but that was corrected. That label actually refers to Marcus Young of Enterprise, who I think made his announcement yesterday evening, committing to Troy. So are we now talking about Dunbar and Whitlow? Sorry if I sound a bit flinty.

Yeah, despite the pomp and circumstance, Marcus Jones picked Troy because he no longer had commit-able offers from Tulane and Purdue.

This was one of them and I thought the one that had us top 3 with Rutgers was going to announce today as well.

I thought we were still going after Jones but I can see why we may pull the offer with an abundance of DBs already committed.

It was a numbers game. If he had made a decision three weeks ago or if we would've lost Langham (who Mizzou and Vandy pushed really hard for), we would've probably still offered.

Terence Dunlap is making his decision at 8 am tomorrow. It's us, Rutgers and Troy.

That's the other one I was thinking of who I previously confused with Jones with the Troy offers.

This gets too confusing keeping up with kids minds! I wish they'd commit to school and stick with it!!

Offers from Georgia St., Georgia Southern, Samford (not to be confused with Stanford), and USM.

So does this thread get un-stickied and we start a 2018 version today?

We have a 2018 recruiting thread. Maybe make that one a sticky.

Nick Kubiet of Matanzas, FL a DL we offered in the last week of recruiting, will sign at his HS next Wednesday, according to his HS coach. He's a big DE who will probably grow into a tackle.

Sammy Ochoa didn't sign with anyone either, as far as I can tell.

Kubiet could help since he has experience at DT and should be able to add weight. I noticed that he visited Princeton so education is on his agenda. Ochoa is probably looking for a walk-on situation with a B12 school.

I'm fairly certain that 1) Kubiet will sign with us on Wednesday and 2) Ochoa is going to Navy...he visited there last weekend.

Kubiet had Sun Belt and CUSA offers (other than ours) as well as one from Cornell (Ivy League) and (S. Illinois) according to Rivals. Can't see if he ever got ranked by anyone (i.e., "Stars").

This is good news - Kubiet is a tough kid with good feet and should help the team GPA ...

He may have been a great fit in Fritz's offense.

Kubiet is a doctor's son who has expressed interest in studying medicine. He was wildly productive for Matanzas HS with 90 tackles, 38 for losses, and 14.5 sacks. As a junior he was putting up numbers at a similar rate through six games. He's a likely redshirt this year who will probably be darkening the doors to 275 pounds in 2018. He had at least three other FBS offers from Ga State, Ga Southern, and USM.

When you watch his video, he has quick moves and finds the ball. This is a good get by WF.
